We plan to start at 5PM, but feel free to come a little early and mingle.
Is there a dress code?
"Dressy Casual" : Dress code is similar to what you might wear to church on a Sunday morning. Our only request is that you don't wear jeans, if you can avoid it. The bride says if she's not wearing jeans on her wedding day, no one else is allowed. After dinner, though, we plan to have a campfire - so feel free to bring a comfier change of clothes if you want to hang out late.
What can we expect from the ceremony?
This is going to be a slightly unconventional ceremony with the main focus of the evening being the dinner party and spending time with family and friends. Our vows will be quick and private shortly before dinner. The dinner will be outside in our backyard (weather permitting).
I'm coming from Ireland, do I need a visa?
If traveling from Ireland, you do not need to apply for a visa, but you will need to apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) under the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. It's a quick, online process that should cost you $21 (USD). Beware of 3rd party services that will charge you a fee to file the application for you - it is not difficult to do on your own. The official website is: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta
Should we expect a formal invitation in the mail?
Due to the last minute planning, and as many of our guests are international, we did not send formal paper invites. We will be communicating any updates through this website and by text.
What is the address for the ceremony and dinner?
67 Monterey Circle, Roanoke, VA 24019
What is the parking situation at the Turner Family Home?
As of now, we believe that there are few enough people coming that street parking should not be an issue. However, to the extent that local family can carpool, that would help immensely.
Am I allowed a plus one?
Due to limited space and just wanting to keep the ceremony intimate, we ask that you not bring anyone that is not included in your invite.
What are we having for dinner?
Dinner will be catered by our lovely neighbors, former owners of Veranda Bistro. We will eat buffet style, and the main course will include a choice between grilled chicken medallions with angel hair pasta and beef pastitsio. The pastitsio and chicken medallions will be gluten free, and we will have Greek salad, as well.
